Kaleo Compassion League
At Kaleo Homeschool, we believe that we are called to be more than a school—we are called to be a family. The Kaleo Compassion League is our way of serving our school community by being the hands and feet of Jesus. We believe that "it takes a village," and we desire to be that village for one another through every season of life.
As we have become aware of families within our community facing difficult circumstances, we felt God calling us to create a ministry that allows our families to love and serve one another in practical ways. Whether someone is walking through illness, a cancer battle, the loss of a loved one, financial hardship, welcoming a new baby, moving, or simply navigating a difficult season, no family should have to carry those burdens alone.
The Kaleo Compassion League provides opportunities for families to serve in whatever way God has gifted and called them. Opportunities to serve may include:
-
Praying for families in need
-
Preparing or delivering meals
-
Providing transportation or rides
-
Childcare
-
Hospital or home visits
-
Cleaning or household help
-
Moving assistance
-
Handyman projects
-
Yard work
-
Encouraging notes or phone calls
-
Financial giving
-
Any other practical way you feel led to serve
We encourage every Kaleo family to prayerfully consider becoming a part of this ministry. Ask God how He is calling you to serve, then sign up in the areas where you feel gifted. Every act of kindness—big or small—has the power to make an eternal impact.
Scripture reminds us of the importance of caring for one another:
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
James 1:27
"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
Matthew 25:40
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
Galatians 6:2
To help meet tangible needs within our school community, the Kaleo Compassion League operates entirely through donations. We are grateful to partner with Bethel Assembly of God, which has agreed to receive donations on behalf of the Compassion League. This partnership allows all donations made to the Kaleo Compassion League Fund to be tax-deductible. Throughout the year, we will also host fundraisers to help grow this ministry and provide support to families in need.
If you are currently facing a difficult season and believe your family could benefit from the Kaleo Compassion League, or if you feel called to volunteer and serve, we would love to hear from you.
Please contact the Head of the Kaleo Compassion League, Amanda Spore, at amandas.kaleo@gmail.com.
Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus, carrying one another's burdens and demonstrating Christ's love in practical ways. Our prayer is that every Kaleo family knows they are seen, loved, supported, and never alone.
